Alabama Legislature rejects electronic bingo bill

The Alabama Legislature could not muster the required votes to debate a bill to legalize electronic bingo. The majority of Alabama's bingo halls have been closed for around a month to avoid raids by Gov. Bob Riley's task force on gambling. "My hope is we can get a simplified version and get it back in front of them," said Ronnie Gilley, developer of the closed Country Crossing complex in Dothan, Ala.
