AVMA urges pet owners to take air travel precautions

When planning to transport pets by air, AVMA advises owners to pick midday flights during cold weather and late evening or early morning flights during warm weather. Pet owners are also advised to know possible breed restrictions imposed by certain airlines. Some airlines refuse to fly or withhold accountability to brachycephalic dogs and cats, which, according to AVMA, are prone to respiratory problems when traveling by air.
