Don't let e-mails clog up the productivity pipeline

To make sure employees are being productive and working efficiently, have them present at least three pieces of digital messages -- such as e-mail or blogs -- in their performance review to "demonstrate how well they've used the medium to manage successful outcomes," Michael Schrage writes. "Conversations around real examples of real work ... tend to be productively revealing," he writes.
