Earthquake science hits home in Pennsylvania

The tremors of the recent earthquakes in Chile and Haiti were felt as far away as Pennsylvania, a fact that might have gone unnoticed were it not for the seismograph sitting in a classroom at Holland Middle School. Science teacher Dave Curry said the results from the seismograph -- a donation from the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology -- helped prove to students that natural events far away can still be felt at home.
