Fed: U.S. economy improved despite February snowstorms

The U.S. economy improved modestly for the first two months of 2010, according to the Federal Reserve. The latest beige book report indicated nine of 12 regional districts posted improvement, but February snowstorms on the East Coast held down some gains. Meanwhile, the ADP private payroll survey reported 20,000 jobs lost in February.
