Wing Zone, an Atlanta-based chicken wing fast-casual restaurant franchise, is poised to go international and has secured a deal to open sites on up to 60 overseas U.S. military bases. The chain hopes the deal will help it gain a foothold in lucrative markets such as Japan and Panama, where foreign restaurant chains have traditionally struggled. "The growth opportunities ... are incredible," says founder Matt Friedman. "Wings are popular, but no restaurant chain has penetrated these countries yet."
