In private, AIG employees defended their bonuses

A newly released transcript shows that employees at AIG's Financial Products division privately defended bonuses they received. The bonuses, which amounted to $165 million, were widely criticized in light of AIG's receipt of a big, government rescue package. Most employees made no public comment on the bonuses, but the transcript of a March conference call obtained by The Washington Post shows employees defended their bonuses behind closed doors.
