Qualcomm's Jacobs sees value in competition, expects consolidation

Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs said the chip maker would use its leverage on technology and pricing to spark a consolidation in the wireless-chip market. "Consolidation will happen or people will leave the market. We're trying to make that happen sooner," he told investors at a conference Wednesday and predicted the chip maker will gain share in the 3G-chip market.
