Southwest eyes slots at Reagan, LaGuardia

If Delta Air Lines and US Airways divest slots at Reagan National and New York LaGuardia, at least one carrier is already showing some informal interest: Southwest Airlines. The discount carrier inquired with DOT regarding the mechanics of a slot sale in recent filings. Regulators have said Delta and US must sell some of the slots they would acquire under a proposed swap, though both airlines insist that would kill the deal. Southwest introduced its first LaGuardia service in June 2009 and currently does not operate flights at Reagan National.
