U.S. expected to see above-normal 2010 Atlantic hurricane season

The Atlantic hurricane season is expected to be above average this year, according to a forecast from ImpactWeather. The forecasting firm predicts the U.S. will see 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and four major hurricanes as the El Niño phenomenon, which suppresses storm activity in the Atlantic, is expected to wane this year.
