Space leaders call on Congress to support commercial spaceflight

In an open letter to Congress, more than 55 space leaders are calling on lawmakers to support commercial spaceflight and the development of private spaceships to replace NASA's space shuttle program. Some members of Congress are pushing for less spending on commercial spaceflight and more spending on building a next-generation spacecraft, but the space leaders argue that more investment in commercial spaceflight would allow NASA to invest in the longer-term rocket plan.
