Michigan prepares for franchise growth

The franchise industry is expected to grow this year, and franchises including Coffee Beanery, Massage Envy, Zoup!, Meineke and BrightStar Care plan to increase their presence in Michigan. A number of factors, including an improved lending environment, are expected to contribute to growth, according to a report prepared for IFA. "Lending will be a bit better in 2012, but there are a slew of uncertainties affecting small business from health care to gas prices to access to credit," said IFA's Matthew Haller.
