Study looks at children's obesity, fitness ratings in Calif.

The obesity rate among children in grades five, seven and nine increased by 0.33% between 2003 and 2008, but their fitness levels showed steady gains, University of California, Davis researchers reported. The study in the American Heart Journal found poorer fitness and body composition scores in counties with lower incomes and higher unemployment rates.
