Va. district bans homemade treats from schools

A Virginia school district has banned homemade treats from classrooms following an incident in which a first-grade student died from an allergic reaction to peanuts at school. Under Greene County's new allergy management policy, only packaged foods that list ingredients will be allowed. The policy also requires schools to buy Epinephrine pens, which are used to treat allergic reactions.
