Dinnertime rules can backfire, dietitian says

Requiring children to clean their plate or to eat their vegetables sends the wrong message about healthy foods and can backfire on parents, nutrition experts say. Registered dietitian Kristi King says a better approach is creative negotiation, which involves including children in the decisions and making sure they see their parents enjoying healthy foods.
