NASA launches flight tests for DC-8 powered by biofuel

NASA began biofuel flight tests last week with a DC-8 to measure emissions data. The DC-8 is powered by a biofuel blend derived from the camelina plant. "We believe this study will improve understanding of contrails formation and quantify potential benefits of renewable alternate fuels in terms of aviation's impact on the environment," NASA said.
