Cataract surgery could restore falcon's vision

Veterinarians around the world are collaborating with veterinarians George Messenger and Ruth Marrion as they prepare for the first cataract surgery with artificial lens placement in a falcon. Dr. Messenger owns Fisherville Animal Hospital in Concord, N.H., where the surgery will take place. Dr. Marrion will perform the procedure. The surgery is waiting until custom lenses can be completed for the falcon, named Banner.
