Older workers seek plastic surgery to avoid age discrimination

Many middle-aged and older Americans who are unemployed or worried about keeping their jobs are seeking plastic surgery in an effort to avoid age discrimination, plastic surgeons and patients say. "I have to sell myself to potential employers. If I'm looking old and haggard, that's going to be a minus," said one woman seeking rhinoplasty. Most patients in her situation seek subtle changes to look fresh and alert, said facial plastic surgeon Jonathan Pontell.
