Other countries can learn from the U.S. shale boom, but they would find it hard to match the American energy revolution, said Maria van der Hoeven, chief executive of the International Energy Agency, in an interview. "The land ownership and the resource ownership go together here in the United States -- the only country where that is the case," she explained. While there are shale gas plays around the world, they are not as easily accessible as those in the U.S., she said.
