Report: Physicians at risk from Medicare Advantage cuts

Proposed reductions in payment rates for Medicare Advantage health plans could lead more insurers to drop physicians from their networks, according to a report from the actuarial firm of Oliver Wyman. The 1.9% base rate reduction proposed by CMS would result in a total decrease of 5.9% in 2015 when combined with other factors, according to the report. Connecticut physicians are already fighting United Healthcare's plans to reduce its provider network.
