Numbers cruncher turns into spice runner

Former accountant Jing Tio has become a successful spice whisperer -- he introduces chefs, including Wylie Dufresne and Joel Robuchon, to new spices and flavors. Having signed deals with spice farmers from Java, Sumatra and the Banda islands, Tio offers exotic and fresh yarrow flower, cypress nuts, kola-nut powders and a bevy of other flavors to upscale chefs.
