Boy with autism wins Mississippi county spelling bee

Tex Davis, 13, has autism, but that didn't keep him from winning a countywide spelling bee and advancing to the state competition. Unfortunately, because Tex's district was unaware of a new charge for the state competition, the payment wasn't sent in on time and that's keeping Tex from advancing. "I feel like my child is being punished for something that is not his fault," said Rachel Davis, Tex's mother. "Why not let us pay the fee and compete?"
