DOT reports January flight delays, cancellations rise over 2007

Commercial flight delays and cancellations were up slightly in January 2008 compared to the same time a year ago, according to government statistics. Airlines say a new satellite-based air traffic control system will ease delays and improve operations. Among major carriers, US Airways placed first in on-time arrivals and will distribute a bonus to employees.
