Brain an important component of psychosomatic medicine, experts say

Researchers are calling for more studies that look into the role of the brain in psychosomatic medicine research, particularly with the emergence of advanced imaging techniques, such as PET, MRI and CT, that allow noninvasive brain evaluation. "A change in research focus to include the brain will have profound implications, not only for how mental and physical health can be improved, but also for health care in general," a researcher said.
