N.Y. lawmakers rush to allot $4B in stimulus money

Even though New York lawmakers are freezing spending and slashing budgets, they are also hard at work on how to spend $4 billion from the stimulus bill. "The repairing of bridges and building roads are a good thing, and they will help us," said Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy. "But they don't give a county government cash to pay its bills."
