Older Americans lack adequate nutrition, study finds

A study of more than 6,200 people shows many middle-age and older Americans have a low dietary intake of micronutrients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamin C. Researchers said many participants took supplements, but these did not help people meet their potassium requirements and caused some participants to exceed the upper intake levels of other nutrients.
