Researchers use iPS cells in removing cancer-causing genes

U.S. scientists said they were able to remove cancer-causing genes from induced pluripotent stem cells, which are ordinary skin cells reprogrammed to act like embryonic stem cells. They then converted the iPS cells into dopamine-producing brain cells to test treatments for Parkinson's disease.
