Stadium building would speed economic recovery, sports execs say

The construction of new sports stadiums could create new jobs and revive neighborhoods, according to sports executives. Lester Bagley, vice president of the Vikings, recently told Minnesota lawmakers that a new $954 million stadium would employ 8,000 construction workers. However, some lawmakers question whether public funding for a stadium is appropriate as the state tries to solve its $4.6 billion budget deficit.
