Tap Project fundraiser now running in 19 cities

The Tap Project, a program created in New York by David Droga of boutique shop Droga5 in 2007 to help UNICEF supply potable drinking water to children in developing nations, this year has expanded to at least 19 cities, where patrons of restaurants can donate $1 to the cause when they ask for tap water, instead of the bottled variety. Sponsors of the initiative, which for the first time has a Spanish-language component, include American Express, Watergeeks Laboratories and Barnes & Noble.
