Will Eastern Airlines fly again?

The Wall Street Journal's travel bloggers report that rumors are once again swirling around the imminent resurrection of the Eastern Airlines brand. According to the travel newsletter Tripso, Ed Wegel, a veteran airline industry financier, told former Eastern employees that an investor group has "developed a business plan for the re-start of Eastern which leverages off of Eastern's core strengths." The Journal notes that this is hardly the first time Eastern was supposed to rise from the ashes, "But with Wegel's background in airline financing, maybe he knows something we don't."
