Government close to taking over U.K.'s, Ireland's most luxurious hotels

As billions of dollars of loans on struggling Irish and British hotels are transferred to the government's National Asset Management Agency, the agency stands to take over up to 200 hotels and become among the world's top hotel owner. Among prestigious hotels that could wind up being controlled by NAMA are London's landmark Claridges, Berkeley and Connaught, and many are concerned about NAMA's lack of experience in the luxury-hotel industry.
