Republic moves could make KCI a viable hub

A long list of failed airlines has tried to use Kansas City International Airport for hub operations, despite a physical layout that often forces connecting passengers to clear security multiple times. Now Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, under the control of corporate parent Republic Airways, will try again to establish KCI as a viable small hub. By combining their operations in a single terminal, the carriers hope to avoid some of the security hassles that have plagued others.
