Vermont governor urges states to "act boldly" on health care IT

With health care reform efforts in Congress beginning to falter, states need to become more involved and step up their implementation of health care IT systems, said Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas at a HIMSS10 session. Douglas, who co-chairs the State Alliance for e-Health, is actively involved in the Blueprint for Health program that focuses on using health information exchange to improve preventive care in Vermont, making it the "number one healthiest state in America" three years in a row.
