Group creates panel to study physician payment reform

The Society of General Internal Medicine has introduced a new panel to examine how primary care physicians are compensated and how incentives impact care. The National Commission on Physician Payment Reform is expected to suggest ways to reform physician payments and evaluate the possible effect of various payment models by early next year.
