PET/MR can be used to evaluate pulmonary lesions

Lesion characterization findings and tumor staging using PET/MR were similar to those of PET/CT in seven of 10 patients with likely or confirmed lung cancer, according to a German study. "The results justify further investigation of MR/PET in the assessment of pulmonary lesions, especially with respect to the broad spectrum of function of MR techniques," said Dr. Christina Schraml from Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen in Germany.
