Subsurface drip irrigation technology can provide benefits to landscape contractors, writes John Ossa, the national accounts director at Irrigation Technologies America. The new technology entails installing pre-embedded emitter tubing in a grid pattern to insure uniform watering and adding geo-textiles, which allows water to be distributed efficiently at the root zone. The irrigation system allows contractors to save on labor and repairs because it is easy to install, and the device is not exposed, Ossa notes.
