Excessive EHR notifications can interfere with care, survey finds

Excessive EHR alerts can cause doctors to overlook abnormal test results, delaying the delivery of patient care, according to a survey of clinicians. Primary care practitioners who responded said they receive a median of 63 alerts daily, and 69.6% reported they received more notifications than they could handle.
