Final HIPAA omnibus rule remains unclear for most CIOs

A recent healthsystemCIO.com survey finds that although 70.8% of CIOs somewhat understand the requirements of the HIPAA omnibus rule, only 16.6% reported having a "solid understanding" of the final rule. The survey also notes that 58.3% of CIO respondents expect to reallocate their groups' resources and re-prioritize their initiatives as a result of the rule.
