Google tests Chrome browser feature for faster access

Google says it's testing an "experimental data-compression feature" for its Chrome Web browser that could accelerate download speeds on some Internet sites and reduce data loads. The technology routes traffic through a proxy server that runs SPDY, a data-compression protocol developed by Google.
