Neb. ethanol producers signal interest in grain sorghum

Ethanol producers in Trenton and Ravenna, Neb., are voicing interest in using locally grown grain sorghum in their operations if there is enough supply to meet their needs. "They are certainly letting it be known that they have the capacity and the interest to purchase large volumes of sorghum," said Barb Kliment, executive director of the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board. Aside from being drought-tolerant, grain sorghum qualifies as an advanced biofuel feedstock under the Renewable Fuel Standard.
