Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, survived a right-wing challenge Tuesday as Texas voted in the nation's first primary election of the year. Still, tea-party candidates scored some impressive victories, with Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst forced into a runoff against conservative state Sen. Dan Patrick, and George P. Bush crediting the tea party, among others, with helping him to win the GOP nomination for land commissioner. "We don't have to change our conservative principles to win, we just need to change our tactics," Bush said.
