GOP: White House defense budget undermines security

The proposed $496 billion defense budget put forward by the White House hurts the U.S. military and threatens national security, say Republican defense hawks. "I share the broad dismay about the shrinking might of the military reflected in this budget," said Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif., the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. "Look at what the consequences of U.S. withdrawal are: instability is spreading, our adversaries are growing bolder, and our security is threatened," McKeon continued.
