Security experts warn of mounting DDoS threats

Distributed-denial-of-service attacks are nearing record levels and represent one of the primary cyberthreats facing U.S. enterprises, researchers say. Two studies indicate DDoS attacks are responsible for nearly one-fifth of all data-center failures in the U.S., with reported incident levels up 32% since 2012. In February, researchers logged what they say may be the largest DDoS attack to date -- a 400Gbps intrusion that was 30% bigger than anything seen in 2013.
