Despite settlement, RIM faces challenges

BlackBerry users in the U.S. breathed a collective sigh of relief Friday when Research In Motion agreed to pay $612.5 million to settle its patent dispute with NTP. While the deal will allow RIM to keep doing business as usual, it doesn't eliminate increasing competition from rivals offering their own innovative wireless e-mail services.
