Study: Childhood obesity becoming "global epidemic"

About one-third of children in North and South America are overweight and that figure should increase to nearly half by 2010, according to a new study. The trend is described as a "global epidemic" that affects most countries of the world and could impact public health care and even economies, according to the International Obesity Task Force.
