Desegregation oversight may end for Florida district

Florida's Orange County Public Schools may be approaching the end of 45 years of federal court supervision over its desegregation efforts, as the district works to hammer out a settlement with the NAACP. An agreement by the NAACP that the district now offers blacks and whites equal educational opportunities could speed up the end of federal oversight by a decade.
