Reports: Southwest may face fine for structural cracks

Southwest Airlines may face a $3 million fine for not inspecting dozens of older jetliners for structural cracks, according to media reports. A Southwest spokeswoman said the airline "found, disclosed and fixed the issue last March." At that point, she said, the FAA determined that the matter was closed and the airline is not currently aware of any civil penalty.
