US Airways illustrates challenges posed by mergers

The merger of US Airways and America West illustrates how difficult it is for large airlines to combine. US Airways has the best profit margin in the industry for the last two-year period, but delays and problems integrating reservations systems hurt the airline. CEO Doug Parker continues to defend the deal and says it saved at least 30,000 jobs.
