GE tries to end speculation on problems at GE Capital

General Electric Chief Financial Officer Keith Sherin said Thursday that the company will not have to raise additional cash, spin off GE Capital or seek government help. GE Capital will undergo "stress tests" amid speculation that problems at the unit will weigh on GE's results when they are announced this month. "There is no time bomb in GE Capital," Sherin said.
