NBCT worries about family finances as pay slashed

A National Board Certified Teacher in Florida says she stands to lose about $12,000 in pay as a result of budget reductions. State officials decided last year to eliminate the $4,000 bonuses NBCTs receive for their work mentoring new teachers, and Jennifer Womble's local board of education recently voted to eliminate its seventh period, resulting in an additional $7,500 pay decrease for Womble.
